Empowering Farm Women and Beginning Farmers Through Education – Annie’s Project Classes

Location: Central Bank meeting room, 611 E. North Street, Eldon, MO

Annie’s Project teaches beginning farmers and women farmers to better manage financial, human resources, legal, marketing, and production risks on the farm. The mission of Annie’s Project is to empower farm and ranch women to be better business partners through networks and by managing and organizing critical information. Over six weeks, Annie’s Project gives farm women the opportunity to learn from Extension specialists, guest speakers and each other. The class is designed for beginning farmers, farm women and women landowners, but it is certainly open to anyone interested. 

According to Patricia Barrett:  “Farm women are business partners in the farm business.  This educational series teaches them the skills be more effective in the agricultural business of farming and livestock.”  

The Miller County workshop is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays from October 19 through November 23 at the Central Bank meeting room in Eldon, located at 611 E. North St, Eldon, MO.

There may be scholarships available to all entrants to offset the registration cost of $75.  The materials and training are valued at over $300.  All materials are provided and a light meal will be served. Santa will be visiting and available for pictures, $2.00; FREE crafts provided by Parents As Teachers; pancake & sausage breakfast, $3.00; a Christmas book walk. Come and join us and start the Holiday season off right!

1st Baptist Church Christmas Giveaway

Annual Christmas Luncheon

Community to their Annual Christmas Luncheon on Wednesday, December 9th, 12:00-1:00 pm., at the Eldon Community Center. Cost will be $15, price includes a buffet dinner, beverage & dessert. The Eldon High School Choir will be singing Christmas carols. Please RSVP by Tuesday, December 1st, 2015.

Santa's Workshop

Location: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 540 N. Mill Street, Eldon, MO

The workshop is open for children ages 4-15 to shop for persons on their Christmas list. Children need to bring a list of five persons' names, and will be able to pick out one present for each person on their list and have it wrapped. In addition, there will be cookies and milk and children will get to visit with Santa Claus.

Eldon's Hometown Christmas

Bring your family to enjoy a hayride down Maple Street to view the businiess windows coming alive and decorations, Christmas caroling, visit with Santa and more! Bring an ornament for the community tree and bring a toy for a boy or girl to be distributed through the Lloyd Belt's Annual Toy Drive. End the night with the lighting of the Christmas Tree at Whittle's Pocket Park.

Men's Christmas Breakfast

Location: Eldon First Christian Church, 102 S. Aurora Eldon, MO.

Breakfasts will be held Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 16-18th. Local churches will participate in preparing breakfast and be in charge of the worship service. This event is open to all area men and boys.

Eldon Tour of Churches

6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Location: Tour starts at United Methodist Church, 600 N. Oak, and ends at 1st Baptist Church, 209 S. Aurora

Tickets are $10 for 16 yrs. & older, under 16 are free. Tickets are available at area churches. Several churches in Eldon will be part of the Tour of Churches. In addition, the Church of the Nazarene, Lawson & Manor) will stage a live Nativity scene from 6 to 8 pm.

Christmas Dinner Theatre

December 18, 2015
6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Location: Eldon Community Center

The Eldon Community Theatre & Habitat For Humanity of Miller County will produce a dinner and show. "A Christmas Carol" will be presented. Dinner will be at 6 PM with the play to start at 7 PM.
